On Sundays and holidays, the sculpture garden is only accessible through the museum entrance.

Visitors presenting a disability ID card receive an individual ticket for €5. Admission for one accompanying person is free of charge. Further information on admission prices can be found here.

An accessible parking space is located on the left side of Abteistraße, approximately 20 meters (66 ft) before the main entrance, which can be easily reached from there. Further information is available in the official directions to the museum.

The main entrance is level and accessible without steps. The double glass door has a total clearance width of 180 cm (71 in). A doorbell is located on the left side of the entrance at a wheelchair-accessible height. Museum staff at the ticket desk can be contacted via the bell to assist with opening the doors. If you need assistance, staff can also be reached by telephone at +49 (0) 2161 252637.

In the entrance area, a permanently installed inclined ramp on the right leads to the museum ticket desk. Please register there—visitors with disabilities receive priority assistance at the ticket and information desk. Folding stools are available at the cloakroom for visitors to borrow. Backpacks and larger bags must be stored in lockers.

The exhibition spaces, which extend across multiple levels, are connected both by permanently installed inclined walkways and by an elevator (width: 80 cm / 31.5 in; depth: approx. 160 cm / 63 in). An accessible restroom is located on the lower level (door width: 90 cm / 35.4 in).

The museum café is also barrier-free.

Terrace Level: The bridge leading to the museum’s terrace level can be reached via Kriechelstraße. From there, access to the museum and sculpture garden is not barrier-free.

Sculpture Garden: The sculpture garden, situated on a slope, can be reached step-free from the entrance on the right-hand side. It can be explored via spacious walkways, though the terrain includes inclines and declines due to the hillside location.

Travel to Hauptbahnhof Mönchengladbach (Mönchengladbach Central Station). From there, you can take a bus or taxi to the Museum Abteiberg.

If you have a little time, you can take a 15-minute walk along Hindenburgstraße through downtown Mönchengladbach to the junction at An der Stadtmauer.

To get to the Museum Abteiberg from Hauptbahnhof Mönchengladbach (Mönchengladbach Central Station), take the bus lines 003, 008, 009, 013, or 023 towards Alter Markt. Get off at the bus stop Abteiberg.

Attention please: Traffic routing has changed! Access via Steinmetzstr. or Alter Markt is no longer possible. If you are using a navigation system, enter „Berliner Platz 15“ as your destination.

Please use the Q-Park parking garage located to the right of the Abteiberg parking garage at Krichelstr. 26. The entrance is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can exit the parking garage at any time until midnight.

Via the A61 motorway: Exit Mönchengladbach-West or exit Mönchengladbach-Holt in the direction Mönchengladbach-Zentrum, then follow the road signs.

Via the A52 motorway: Exit Mönchengladbach-Nord / Viersen in the direction Mönchengladbach-Zentrum, then follow the road signs.
